Oh.my.goodness. It was windy yesterday! This was the only picture that didn’t have either my collar or the bottom of the shirt flipped up or my hair blowing around. There aren’t words to descripe just how good I look with my hair standing straight up. On second thought, good may not be the correct word to use, maybe crazy.

I loved Lost last night! I didn’t love the red V in the corner though. Was anyone else annoyed by that? And Sayid was creeping me out at the end. I usually love him but badSayid just isn’t doing it for me. I’m looking foward to Desmond’s episode next week. He’s one of my favorite characters, brother. Sad as I’ll be when the show is over, I’m really excited for the series to end. I want to know the whole story!

I hate the week before spring break. Hate it! It’s almost as bad as the week before Christmas. The kids are nuts and we’re all anxious for a vacation. It doesn’t help that it’s cold and rainy too; that just adds insult to injury! I thought the yellow sweater might perk me up a little, but not so much. Honestly, I’m not sure that I even like the sweater! The color is great but the cut isn’t my favorite. It reads as slightly grandma to me, and not grandma in a good way. I think it’s the sleeves. I’m trying to love it though, or at least like it until I find a suitable replacement!

I really should be spending my time packing this evening, or at least thinking about it. My sister and I are going to New Orleans for Easter (can’t wait!) and I’ve given it almost no thought. I managed to buy the tickets and book the hotel but beyond that – nothing. I am looking forward to the trip, but I’m starting to get concerned that I’ll be packing at the last minute. As always. I hate that about myself! In most aspects of my life I’m pretty organized and prepared. Anal, some might say. But not when it comes to packing – I have a mental block. So my goal is to be packed by the time I go to bed on Thursday. That doesn’t sound like much of a goal but trust me, if I’m not throwing things into my bag while running out of the house at the last minute wearing one shoe, it will be a vast improvement.

This is what Saturday looks like. I took Friday off (hence no post yesterday – I was bumming around the house and Lowes) but had school today. Yes, school on Saturday. What is the world coming to?! It wasn’t really school-school, it was a prep session for AP science students in my county. Aside from having to give up a weekend day, it’s actually a pretty cool program. All I have to do is show up – no teaching or prep. work involved. I like my AP students (AP Environmental Science) a ton so spending some extra time with them isn’t too painful. Still, I’m glad there’s only one more left. I need my weekends!

After staring into my closet for so long that I was absolutely going to late, I decided to try the whole denim with denim thing that’s supposed to be big this season. Surprise, I didn’t hate it like I thought I would! I don’t think I could do it if the shades of blue were the same or even similar but with dark blue and faded blue it seemed to work. I think. Wearing it didn’t bother me so I guess it was a success. It will probably happen again.

I love this weather! Everything seems so fresh in the spring. The grass is starting to turn green or in the case of my backyard, the weeds are turning green, but I’ll take it either way! It’s an improvement over dead and brown.

This is the first time I’ve worn this dress and I love it! It definitely felt right today. My students were pretty surprised to see me in a color; they see me in a lot of black and gray so a green dress/white shirt combo seems out of character. They handled it well though, I’m so proud of them!

A cold, rainy Tuesday feel a lot like a Monday. In other worlds, today wasn’t the best. I think this weekend spoiled me; I want sun and temperatures in the high 70s! At least I have Lost to look forward to (the Richard episode!); that show makes every Tuesday better. It’s my favorite show right now, by far.

I’m trying hard but taking pictures outside just feels awkward and I didn’t want to spend more time than was necessary in the cold/wind/rain. Picking the background went something like this: Walk out the front door and look left, right. Husband points at the yellow building two doors from our house. I run there, smile, and run home. It may have taken five minutes. Tops. So do I like the pictures? Not especially. But I liked standing outside even less! I do like the shoes though. This was the first time I wore them for an entire day and they didn’t cause any major problems.

Gorgeous day.  Why can’t they all be like this?  I’m so happy for decent weather!  I love not having to wear tights every single day of the week.  Remind me that I said that in October when I can’t wait to start breaking them out.

Friday’s are “jeans day” at school but I refuse to pay $2 every week to the social committee.  They’re lame.  Of course they’re probably thinking the same thing about me.  I’d also have to wear a high school t-shirt (ugh) or a college shirt (not quite as ugh, but not me either).  I get around it by wearing my jean skirt.  Frequently.  It’s my own Friday tradition.  I’m not sure if it’s one I should try to break or not.  I’ve transitioned to mostly dresses and skirts at school anyway, so wearing real jeans (like I did on Wednesday) feels really strange.  I have to spend twice as much time thinking about my outfits when they involve pants.  I have better ways to spend my time at 5:30am.  Much better ways.
